Major duties

1. As technical owner, evaluate, plan and drive green and sustainability initatives (e.g. biobased materials, sustainable processes, green spectacle lens)

2. Identifying opportunities and risks for green and sustainability within the organisation, define and execute appropriate measures to increase the organisation’s sustainability credentials

3. Integrate green technologies into ZEISS’s low-carbon strategic plan & form green roadmap

4. Build strong and effective network with external partners to open business opportunites and conduct collaborative development

Qualification

1. Master or PhD in Science and Engineering, preferablly in Polymer Engineering and Chemical Engineering

2. Scientific understanding and fundamental knowledge of chemistry and polymers

3. Experience in polymer material evaluation, development and testing

4. Experience in a multi-skilled environment and possession of cross-disciplinary skills or the

ability to grasp requisite skills outside of core skill-set is preferred

5. Good English communication skills (speaking, reading, writing, intercultural awareness), ideally with international experience

6. Experience or knowledge of green chemistry and sustainability is a plus
