in this highly visible role you will be challenged with responsibilities including:

development of software components based on qualcomm, broadcom wi-fi chipsets, including architect, design, coding, bug fixing and unit and integration tests
design new software features and research of new wi-fi related technologies
optimize data path performance in applications and drivers
work closely across teams at calix (cloud, pll, system test, customer service)
accompany the design and ution process, ensure the design follows the architecture and meets the requirement.

qualifications: 

total engineering minimum experience required is typically a bs degree and 12 years of experience, an ms degree and 9 years of experience or a phd and 6 years of experience or equivalent.
software experience with strong c/c++ coding skills is essential.
extensive experience with linux programs including device driver and application.
in depth of understanding to 802.11 protocol suite and wlan technology is highly preferred.
extensive experience with wpa supplicant, hostapd, and radius protocol.
extensive experience with mesh is highly preferred
extensive experience in wi-fi bug debugging, troubleshooting and performance optimization
extensive experience with ip networking with good knowledge of tcp/ip
extensive experience with cpu architecture, dma, cache, pci/pci-e, memory management and optimization
ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently.
